Youth in Government is a free 8-12 week program offered to elementary school students in which they get the opportunity to visit several city departments, including fire, water, police, and public works. Students directly interact with department heads, city officials, and participate in mock city council meetings at the city council chambers. Sessions are usually offered seasonally, and sign-ups will be posted accordingly.
The second session of Youth in Government has concluded. Look out for a middle-schooler's Youth in Government program in upcoming months and another one for 5th Graders starting in the 2025-26 school year.
EcoExplorers is an environmental program offered by Youth Civic Leaders. We offer passionate students from elementary to high school the opportunity to give back to their community by participating in several environmental workshops year-round. Contact us if you would like to get involved as an ecoexplorers team member.
We will resume tree-watering at Handy Family Park and Lions Park in summer 2025.
